Brüno, like any movie with Stepin' Fetchit, is an acquired taste. Some of the scenes were comedic genius: like "The Gun Club" in the extras section; yet, others were vulgar and anything but funny.
As with Borat, there is plenty of ambush humour, praying upon politeness, stupidity and prejudice. To Sasha Baron Cohen's credit, it was difficult to tell what scenes were staged and what was cinéma vérité.
Almost three stars for the total DVD package--extras and commentary. 5 stars for unmitigated gall.
