In just the last three months, the number of connected devices has increased from 5.3 to 5.7 devices per home. The vast majority of this growth comes from tablets and smart phones, many of which are used to stream entertainment.
John Buffone, director of devices for NPD Connected Intelligence, observed the following about this upward trend:
“Even with this growth in the smartphone and tablet market, PCs are still the most prevalent connected device in U.S. Internet households — a fact that won’t be changing any time soon . . .
