Inside Redbox is the #1 "Unofficial" Redbox Online Community for Redbox Codes, News and more. Inside Redbox is not affiliated with Redbox Automated Retail, LLC.

Its time for another weekly update and I am excited… This week I want to involve many of you in a very special contest – and possibly help you earn some extra cash! Read on…

Also, I have not yet had the chance to do interview Redbox VP Greg Waring, but I will definitely get to it over the next few weeks. I need to get the time to fit into my schedule, and he the time to fit it into his. Keep a lookout for it over the coming weeks…

And, finally… are there new codes out there? Find out if the latest codes that have been added will work for you…

QUESTION OF THE WEEK = CONTEST

OK, like I mentioned earlier, this week I am announcing a contest to create a new design for InsideRedbox.com – more specifically, I am looking to for a nice InsideRedbox logo…

What should it look like? Something clean and simple. I don’t want any crazy graphics – just a nice logo that fits nicely with the “Inside” theme of the site.

As logos are submitted, I will comment on them and post them here on the blog. Also, you will be able to comment as well. With your design, your comments, and my guidance, we will have a great new logo for the site that will be featured in the header.

What will you get? The winner of the contest will get some important things…

  1. A link from InsideRedbox to your website, with you credited as the designer.

  2. I will pay you to design logos/graphics for some other websites I am working on right now.
  3. And… the good feeling of knowing you made the world a better place (well, at least better to get free DVDs)

You can send a copy of your design to “contest [at] insideredbox.com”. Please use a standard image format such as jpg, gif, png or psd.

I look forward to seeing your entries! If you have questions, please leave a comment below.

REDBOX CODES

A new code came into the system this week. It is a really weird looking code, but many have reported it working…

RHCD8V

I have no idea what it refers to. Give it a try and report back on whether or not it works for you.

OK, that is it for now. Stay tuned for major changes to the look of the site and remember to send in your submissions for the logo contest.

Thanks, and have a great week!

PS: If you have some friends who do graphic design, and they don’t know about us (maybe they don’t live near a Redbox?), be sure to refer them to this post so they can enter the contest, too.

Why not just have an “opened” red box with the words “Inside Redbox” looking like they are either going inside the box or coming out of the red box?

    Questions…

Is there a limit to how many entries per person?

What size would you like the file(s) to be?

When is the deadline/When will the contest end?

There is no limit on entries.

Filesize doesn’t matter much. You can send a fairly small file as the entry, and then for the winner I will get the larger file from you.

I am not sure when it will end just yet. I think probably next Tuesday.

I have received submissions from 4 people so far, and I will respond to those shortly…

I will say one thing here, though… I am mainly looking for some interesting graphic representation of the site, not necessarily making the name “Inside Redbox” a prominent part of the logo (although that is OK).

As of right now I am not completely sure what I am looking for, so submit whatever you like and I will provide feedback soon.

There’s a couple things I’d like to say in this message. 1. My belief on the subject of why you cannont use codes online to rent the movies is simply answered. In the store people will not stand there for overly extended periods of time trying codes to find new codes that work. However, online a person could code something up to automatically try different codes out of a dictionary list or name list 24 hrs. a day. This would be a problem for redbox as their codes are not as complex and random as the other retailers online promo codes.
    2. Maybe I’m just weird but I kinda like the thought of having a logo and slogan. Pehaps something like: “Get inside the Box. InsideRedbox.com” with a logo consisting of perhaps a picture taken of an open redbox machine (maybe this can be taken while new movies are being put inside).
But hey. I’m weird so… Yeh.

Thanks again Michael for all your hard work.

Why dont you just leave it like it is.. Why change what works. Besides, americans are sick of seeing familiar objects always changing.. You have something good, strong going dont make it cheesy..

I am definitely not going for anything cheesy…

The reason I am looking to make a change is because I am soon going to be launching a network of websites that relate to what is being discussed here at InsideRedbox. I want to make sure that the “brand” that is seen here is similar throughout all the sites, so it is clear they are related.

For this reason I will remove any photos, and want to use simple illustrations for each site with differing color schemes, allowing me to keep the look and feel of each site the same.

So, keep that in mind as you are producing logos for me…

Just so it is known, I have yet to see anything that has just jumped out to me and said “This is the one.” I think that is mostly because I was not clear on what I wanted. Hopefully this explanation helps a bit.

    So, keep those logos coming.

    Thanks everyone!

    Michael

    Michael,
I think if you were more specific on how these sites tie together you might get better looking and more specific logos.

The real redbox website answers your question “tvd” about using codes when you rent DVD’s online. It says to make it fair for people that go up to the machine without renting before they WON’T let you use a code if you reserve the DVD online first! They have this posted in the FAQ section on their website (www.redbox.com). Hope this helps ya.

in order to improve the redbox is that people who rent dvds online are not able to use codes is not fair that only people who walk to machine only they are able to use the machine.also problay extend the hours to return the dvd instead at 7 could be 9.add more copies of dvd in redbox. because they ran out fast. last when are the redbox are going to be added at walgreens or mcdonalds hwy 6 zip code 77084.
