I sent a text to 414141 and nothing happened. when i tried it again today the message that came back said one code per user. i never got a code originally.

Victoria: Yea, that same thing actually happened to me, too. I just tried in on my wife's phone, and it worked fine. Definitely weird; probably just some SMS error.
What carrier do you use? I have AT&T.

i just got a code thirty minutes ago, used it, and it worked. In case, if you want to know if they are giving out the same code, I don't think so. But it makes you feel better to know, then I was sent Z5XTT76 and as I said it works. Enjoy the free movie rental.

Texted 414141 got code real quick, but be sure to text a reply to STOP or you may have an unexplained charge to your phone. I texted one of these coupon numbers a couple of days ago and the next day had $9.99 charged to my phone. Has this happened to anyone else?

These things NEVER work on MetroPCS phones. They want to monopolize the Savings industry. You can't even make and load your own ringtones anymore. In summary, when I tried to send the text msg, an error said the message failed to send and asked if I wanted to retry. Sure, I said, for all the good it'll do me. :o)

I sent the text and received a reply back instantly with my redbox code. My code was different than the one knowl3uddycares had reported, so these are one time use codes. Now it's time to see if the code will actually work at the Kiosk. And more importantly, will I see some "service" charge from a third party vendor on my cell phone bill next month. In the mean time, I'll enjoy my movie :)

I have a TracFone prepaid phone (service through AT&T) and I texted to 414141 and got a promo code. if there is any charge at all for the service OTHER than what your cell provider charges, they can't charge ME because I don't get "billed" - I already have my minutes charged into my phone. i didn't watch if any of my minutes disappeared when I texted, but I can't see them having such an intricate procedure in place to remove minutes from prepaid phones to use for payment for charges with this type of "charge for text" services." We'll see. Haven't tried the code yet, tho.

interesting - My code would not work when I started the kiosk session with "use a promo code". Tried several times - even waited a few minutes...
So I then started a regular "Rent a DVD" session, and was ready to pay when I decided to try the "Use promo code" option. At that point it did work.
Maybe these one time promo codes are flagged that you must select a movie first?. Weird.

I tried it and I got a code within 1 second but you can only do it once. I tried it again later this evening and it said " sorry only one coupon per user.

I texted "FIT" to 414141 on my mobile phone and I received the new code within less than a minute from Redbox. Now I have until 8/31/09 to try this code out.
