The Redbox website still says:

SIGN UP FOR TEXTS
Get a promo code sent to your phone on the first Monday of every month.

Either they plan to continue sending a code the first Monday of each month, or they are deceptively enticing people to sign up at their website and provide their phone information.

If it's the latter, they deserve nothing but scorn. But my guess is they continue free movie Mondays in some form. Maybe not completely free, perhaps rent one get one free or something similar.

I believe their 'extended through the summer' press release in May was worded the way it was so they could get more publicity by issuing another press release in August, at which time they could further fine tune the promotions. We will see.

Maybe we are lucky that we still have free mondays on the first monday of each month, i heard they wanted to to quit it all together, and i think someone cried about it, the person that doesn't spend money on redbox. the person that doesn't spend money once a month now. Consider ourselves lucky they are still doing the "promotion" of redbox rentals with this deal.

Phone numbers?? since when does a huge company take your phone number and personal information and sell it to third parties for more cash? hmmm?
