That sure sucks.
I try to be careful while returning DVDs. Not only I look for the "Your DVD has been successfully returned" message, but I wait for a few seconds for screen to go back to the options "Rent a DVD"/"Return a DVD".
Not only that I check the e-mails and verify I haven't been over-charged.

While I can understand your frustration here, you have to think about it from Redbox perspective. I could easily rent 3 movies and never return them, and then call Redbox when I see the big charge and say that I did. Like you, I would have no proof of the return, so should Redbox really refund me 100% of all of the movies that I never returned?

Overall, it sounds like Redbox did pretty good refunding you 75% of the charges. Of course, I do understand your side as well, because if your returned all of the movies and got charged, that is not right either.

Ultimately, Redbox may need to implement a better system of tracking returns. One new feature Redbox has added recently is the ability to track movies you still have out. This is part of the Inside Redbox Pro iPhone application, and is also on their website under "Rental History". Of course, this will only work if you are registered on redbox.com, and if you have added the credit card(s) you use to rent.

I know this is not 100% foolproof, but that is what redbox has given us to work with right now.

When you return a movie make SURE bar code is showing throu the window on the case AND that you insert the case the RIGHT way and stand there to see if machine accepted the dvd. IF you don't, the machine will pop it back out and if you are not there to correct the problem with the dvd then the person behind could get a FREE dvd on you. It has happend to me, some one did NOT put it in the right way and they walked away. The dvd came back out. They got lucky because it was a movie I did NOT want but if it WAS, I would have KEPT it and THEY would have gotten charged for it, NOT me.

I recently got my credit card bill and saw a $24.00 charge for a redbox movie. So I called redbox and explained to them that I returned this movie and have a receipt for it and that I returned it. However I never received an e-mail telling me that I returned it. I tried explaining to them that I returned it, but they were having none of that. Tell me why in the world would I want to keep a movie called G-Force or Julie and Julia!?! I told them to look at my record and see that I return all of the movies I rent usually within a day. Once again they were still having none of that. They could not do anything but refund me for one of the movies and charge me half for the other movie. I am really fed up with redbox right now! Has anybody else have this same problem? Netflix here I come!

Sort of similar I guess. I reserved on-line at RedBox.com, was charged the fee for rental. Went and picked up movie that night. When viewing bank statement on-line saw that I was charged for the rental when I reserved the movie on-line, then I was charged again when I went and picked up the movie. Sent an email to RedBox, and they said according to their records I was only charged when I reserved the movie. So I checked with my bank, and I am still being charged twice! My advice: Don't reserve on-line from RedBox.com, or it seems you will be charged twice for one rental.

Hi..I have been using Redbox for a few years, been pretty happy.
We rented Up this past Saturday, and returned it Monday afternoon. At 1.00 a day
the charge wouldve been 2.00. I got an email yesterday stating we returned it yesterday,
which wouldve added another 1.00 charge. We did not return it yesterday, we returned it Monday. No mistaking this, as we were both working yesterday....
I tried calling, put on hold for ten minutes. Hung up and sent off an email.

It's not the dollar, it's the principle. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks!

I just found a Blockbuster Express Kiosk in our local Publix the other day. They gave me the free code (previously posted). I rented one movie that night, returned it & paid for one the second night & returned it on time. Now I find three night rental charges on my debit card. I have tried to email with no avail, and cannot find any means to contact them. Any Ideas?
