I am getting disgusted because Redbox is not putting new movies into their Redboxes any more. Instead, they are full of games.
I want movies and have been a good customer for years. The nearest movies I want, such as Blitz, starring Jason Statham who is a hot actor, are now located 50 miles (one way!) from me, instead of being in the 5 Redboxes in my town.

so sad to see that rio will be available at bbe on 8/9 just one week after release yet redbox wont have it until 8/30. is this a move by the studios to try to put bbe ahead of redbox?

The main site itself works. But when I try to click on a movie or game the site gets a pop up ad that will not go away. It also won't let me check the location of the Redboxs near me to see what movies they have.

Does anyone know why it is doing this to me or is anyone else having the same problem?

Hey folks, brand new member here. Searched the forum but didn't find a discussion on this.

I use the Redbox android app and the webpage but often I'm driving home and would like to see what new releases are available at my local kiosk. If I just drive over to the kiosk it adds thirty minutes to my commute home (15 minutes each way) and I'm gambling that there will be something available that I want to see. Like I said, I use the mobile app but when I'm driving it seems too dangerous to be scrolling through movies on my phone.

Does anyone else think it would be cool to call an automated line, hear the new releases, and then reserve at your favorite kiosk?

I\'m so glad I found this site with the free rental codes. It is certainly saving me $$$ for having some really bad movies rob me of hours of my life. For instance:

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 - Really a BAD movie
JONAH HEX - Even though it had Megan Fox, I had to fastforward to the end just to watch it
SALT - Would this movie EVER end?

Maybe we can write comments with a Sharpie on the DVD to warn others? They wouldn\'t be able to track that, right? Just a thought.

I\'ve had to deal with the reps at the call center a few times, and honestly, I think they\'re absolutely wonderful. They\'re incredibly helpful, and seem to do whatever they are able to, to fix the problem. I know a few people who think if they freak out on the reps they\'ll get more out of it... but I\'m pretty sure that is not how it works. I work at another call center.. and when people freak out on me, I try my best to give them as little as possible. I mean, just like any other job, the reps there must have policies they need to follow so they can only do so much. But I\'m sure the nicer you are to them, the more likely they will go to bat for you to get you as much as they can. It disgusts me when people are rude to call center reps. They\'re just doing a job. They don\'t want to be there anymore than you want to have to call them. And if you\'re having a problem with a redbox machine, which I have before, why would you take it out on the person trying to help you? They didn\'t go to your local machine and destroy it just so YOU couldn\'t rent. So, I\'m sure most of you think this is lame, but how about trying to be a little nicer to the people you are asking for help?

I\'m a loyal redbox customer but a complete newbie to this forum. I\'m taking a course in Management at Troy University and chose Redbox to do a research paper on because it seems to be a great company with lots of growth potential. The problem is, I\'m having trouble doing research on it since it\'s not a publicly held corporation.
I\'m not asking for any company secrets, but if anyone could give me any general infromation on the following subjects, it would be greatly appreciated:

•	Company mission, strategy, goals
•	Company core values •	Information on CEO, his/her leadership, power and influence on the company; management style
•	Corporate culture •	How does the company create and sustain culture?
•	Organizational structure
•	How does the company stimulate innovation and change?
•	How does the company handle corporate social responsibility?

I was wondering if someone does not want rated R movies in their Red Box and they do not allow them to even be an option, can someone return one from another Red Box and then rent it out of the first one? For instance, if someone rents a rated R movie and then returns it to another kiosk that does not allow R movies to be rented, can they be checked out from the one that does not allow it? Thanks and may GOD bless<><

I originally posted this under "Redbox Expected to Hit $1 Billion in Sales in 2010" but the issue bothered me a bit too much that I decided to post it here.

++++++

I do like redbox rentals but occasionally they p*** me off. Why? They like to repackage old movies and showcase them along with new releases. To trick the customer further, they even put up different artwork on the case.

Next time when you try to rent, make sure you check online that they are the latest release: just google the title. This repackage-with-different-face thing had caught me like 3-4 times already for movies that I already watched. And they don’t show the year a particular movie is released either.

Lamers! I happen to get tricked just now. I wish somebody take this issue straight up to Mitch Lowe’s a** and shove it up. Maybe follow up with a lawsuit or two to redbox.

MacChad on "Netflix/Redbox merger"

What I would like to see is a merger (or even a loose partnership) between Netflix and Redbox. They each offer such great services (Netflix with their enormous library and Redbox with their awesome convenience and almost instantaneous gratification quotient).

So, here's what I think would be a great idea: The ability to return the Netflix envelope/dvd to a redbox and get a "free" Redbox DVD in exchange. Netflix would then automatically send out the next DVD in your queue as you've "returned" your movie. This way, you get instant gratification of the redbox DVD while you're waiting for the next DVD in your Netflix queue (which is sped up by possibly as much as a day - depending on when you return). Maybe we could also see a subscription pricing model from redbox that took advantage of this feature. Like a $3-6 monthly add-on to your netflix account?

Thoughts?

Last year, redbox said they were testing a "quickreturn" feature at their kiosks - a second slot for disk returns only...."Redbox, the largest of the kiosk operators, indicated Monday that it plans to address the problem by introducing a "Quickreturn" feature that will separate customers who merely wish to return a disk from those who are renting one" - from an article August 2009. Has anyone seen this feature? Has anyone used this feature? If so, please comment (with an address, if possible, so I can see one for myself).

I have used Netflix for over 10 years, and yes there have been a few problems. The good news here is Netflix takes action on legitimate complaints, and are very nice about it too.

With the holiday weekend and mail not being delivered, I reserve 3 DVDs on redbox.com to fill the gap.

When I show up they're not available, machine out of service. I call customer service, wait 20 minutes, given an obviously scripted "apology", and am offered CODES to replace or a refund. It's "not possible" to transfer the reservation to working kiosk, or even tell me what's available. I select codes and go to nearby kiosk.

At the nearby kiosk, only one of the 3 DVDs is available, I take it and go home. On arriving home (about 10 minutes) I check the redbox.com and the two "unavailable" are shown as available to be reserved.

A second call to customer service, a 10 minute wait, another scripted apology, promise of a refund (verbal only, no written message) which will take 3-5 business days (means a week from the day after tomorrow).

So much for guaranteed reservations. I will have my own reservations about redbox.com now.

Getting around for me is no small feat, and last minute failures cannot readily be mended, so redbox.com is going into my unreliable and unresponsive category, where it is likely to take up permanent residence.

In all fairness, I report I have previously rented a DVD from redbox.com on separate occasions, with no problems. Still it's 1 of 3 on events and 3 of 5 on DVDs for extreme dis-service.

It allowed it to go through at the time, and I also rented another movie that we paid for at the time. I only had $1.83 in my account, but knew it wouldn't be a problem because we got one for free. Come to find out a few days later, redbox took out the $1.06 for the paid for movie, and $1 for the other movie. This caused my bank account to go "overdraft" and get fees. When I called Redbox about it, they said the $1 is a "hold" they're putting on the account to make sure there are funds in there. Has anyone else had them put a hold on their account for a free movie? Also, they're telling me that my bank should reimburse me for the fees, and that many people that they've talked to have said their banks reimbursed them???

Can anyone give advice/opinion about what to do? My bank is telling me they won't reimburse me! Help!!

Redbox expanding to CVS stores this year, through 2011
Published: August 5, 2010

Redbox Automated Retail LLC said Thursday it will roll out its DVD rental kiosks at CVS pharmacy locations nationwide, beginning with about 700 machines this quarter and through December.

The national rollout follows a successfulpilot program at CVS stores, according to a press release by Redbox parent Coin Star Inc. The rollout to thousands of CVS stores is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.

Coinstar's agreement between CVS Caremark Corp. marks the first time CVS will offer a DVD rental service to consumers and significantly expands Redbox's presence within the drug store channel.

"We're pleased to add CVS/pharmacy stores to our list of convenient locations for movie lovers to rent films," said Mitch Lowe, president of Redbox.

A search on CVS.com showed 25 CVS stores in the Scranton area. Redbox is currently available at approximately 23,000 locations nationwide. CVS operates about 7,100 stores nationwide.

The price at our nearest Redbox in San Diego is now $1.25 per day. Still a good price for a movie--and a moot point if you have a code and just keep the movie one day.

I signed up for membership so I can manage codes and track the ones I've used, but I can't find anywhere on the website to do this. I can see how to add/update a code, but where can I "see a personalized promo code list of those I haven’t tried/used yet", as mentioned in the membership benefits?

The same question goes for the iPhone app... I don't see any "personalized list" in there eaither.
