Listen Up People, If you are a Netflix member: Please take note of the following changes they wont tell you about even If you ask unless you press the customer service rep. when you call. # 1. People with single DVD plans are first to get the new releases (even thats 28 days behind DVD release dates) so If your paying for a larger plan, you get less service. # 2. You should have your old returns In the mail on sat. Netflix receives new DVDs on mon. # 3. In the last couple of weeks Netflix has changed there web-site, as of late you will notice some blank spaces were only days and weeks before there release dates there on your Queue. this way they no longer have to honor your personal Queue listings and they dont have to spend the money for all the DVDs they actually need. This means If you only Subscribe for the single Disc they have to send It to you just to keep you, but people paying for multiple Disc plans and having extensive Queues are placed on a back burner, We have other movies they can send us.
# 4. list all of your next week releases that you want at the very top of your Queue. Have you notice the membership dues have gone up?

Americans Are Far More Likely To Watch A Movie At Home Than In A Theater
Saturday, January 29, 2011

Most Americans seldom, if ever, darken the door of a movie theater these days, but plenty of them are watching movies at home.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 55% of Adults say they rarely or never go out to the movies, while another 34% say they do so only occasionally. Six percent (6%) go to a theater once a month, and three percent (3%) go two or three times a month. Only one percent (1%) goes once a week. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
By contrast, just 14% of adults say they rarely or never catch a movie at home.
Twenty-seven percent (27%) watch a film at home at least once a week, and 17% watch more than one a week. Forty-one percent (41%) say they catch a movie at home occasionally.
Among those who watch a film at home at least occasionally, 35% say during an average week that they are more likely to see one they\'ve rented. Thirty percent (30%) are more likely to watch one on regular network television, while 29% tend to tune in to films on a premium cable channel like HBO or Showtime.
(Want a free daily e-mail update? If it\'s in the news, it\'s in our polls). Rasmussen Reports updates are also available on Twitter or Facebook.
The survey of 1,000 Adults was conducted on January 26-27, 2011 Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
Thirty-seven percent (37%) of all Americans prefer comedy movies. Dramas run a distant second with 19% who prefer them, followed by 15% who lean toward action movies. Ten percent (10%) like science fiction best, four percent (4%) say horror, and just as many (4%) favor musicals.
Men like science fiction and action movies more than women do. Women, on the other hand, prefer musicals more than the guys do.
Younger adults are more likely to go out to the movies than their elders. Older Americans are much more likely to watch a film at home.
Seventy-five percent (75%) of Americans who go to the movies at least once a month told us a year ago that they think movie tickets are too expensive.
In a June 2007 survey, 65% of adults said they at least occasionally rent movies for home viewing.
Not only are Americans staying at home to watch movies, but separate polling finds that most adults are still not rushing out to eat these days either. A good meal at home remains their preferred option.

First, no one has addressed the fact that the Universal lawsuit is in violation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act of 1901, enacted to prohibit unfair 'monopolies', and this lawsuit is about to cross the line of The Act that addresses 'price fixing'. Also, even if they win their lawsuit against Redbox, there are too many 'holes in the dam' to plug. Every Tuesday is called 'street date' in the trade, and is the date everyone from Wal-Mart, to Best Buy, to Redbox, and all kiosk owner operators are allowed to put the new release DVD's on the rack for public access, and Wal-Mart, on Tuesday only, drop the price for one day down to $15--$16.00 for one day only, to drive foot traffic into the store, and http://www.amazon.com does the same thing--only with a little bit longer 'window of opportunity'--I checked 'Wolverine'--the last installment of the X-men trilogy, and it was priced at $15.50. This lawsuit brought by Universal, then Fox Studios, and Warner Brothers, is pure greed on their part, as last year DVD sales dropped by 8%, while DVD kiosk rental revenue increased at 147%. I have trade articles and a video interview with the CEO of Redbox, and will be happy to send them upon request. You may email me at:gatwell@dvdnowkiosks.com, and our website is : http://www.dvdnow.net, and we are the 4th largest distributors of DVD rental kiosks in the world--hope this has been of utility for you.
Best,
Gordon

Just had an article in the Pgh. Post Gazette about a new internet site called Clicker.com that is like Hulu where you can watch movies, tv episodes, etc. for free. It's been in testing for several months and now is available to the public for free. I checked it out and it's pretty interesting as it has available 400,000 tv episodes, 50,000 music videos , and roughly 30,000 movies. Went to watch an R-rated movie and the thing they do require is your birth date and verification that that is in fact your true birthdate.

I just found a Blockbuster Express Kiosk in our local Publix the other day. They gave me the free code (previously posted). I rented one movie that night, returned it & paid for one the second night & returned it on time. Now I find three night rental charges on my debit card. I have tried to email with no avail, and cannot find any means to contact them. Any Ideas?
