Blockbuster Moves HQ to Colorado

It’s not often that we see Blockbuster opening something these days, but that’s the case with the Dish-owned video renter’s new headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.

Blockbuster, which was previously based out of Dallas, says its plans to stay in Colorado for a while and plans to bring 150 new positions to the area during the next five years.

Blockbuster president Michael Kelly said the following about his company’s future at the opening festivities:

“As part of the Dish family, we are financially positioned for growth in all business areas while realizing greater efficiencies . . . We’ll continue to celebrate throughout the year with in-store and by-mail promotions that will help Blockbuster rise to the top of consumer choice for home entertainment.”

So Blockbuster has a shiny new headquarters. Can the company get some shiny new hope and success to go along with it? Weigh in with your opinion in the comments.

Redbox probably has more kiosks in CO than blockbuster has in total employees.
