The Blockbuster Express kiosks haven’t really been released yet and they already have seen a price drop.

When the kiosks were announced, Blockbuster had said they planned to charge .

99 for the first night, and $0.99 for additional nights. In an recent announcement, they have now said they will charge $1 per day. This obviously puts them in line with Redbox, e-Play, and others.

They will still charge $1.99 for the first night of a blu-ray rental, however, something I also think we will see Redbox adopt in the coming months.

So, it looks like Blockbuster is now getting serious in its competition with Redbox.

The more kiosks competition/wars , the better. It will force prices to stay low. If Blockbuster kiosks come out with a better selection of dvds than Redbox now offers, yet can offer at the same Redbox $1 price, then Blockbuster should be serious competition!!!

Will a BB store card/account be required? If so, than Redbox still has the advantage.

I was just in a Publix in Central Florida last night and saw a sign out front that said Blockbuster Express is HERE!
However, I was just running in quickly to pick up a prescription, and so I never did see the actual kiosk.

I’ve used the BB kiosk, and you only need a credit card.

    Search for them here:

Searched for a BB kiosk in my area of southern California & once again, California is out of the loop! Hey, CA, get up with the rest of the country & bring BB kiosks to this area!

Don’t you know it! California is so behind the rest of the country it isn’t funny! Moved here from Oklahoma & can’t believe how behind the times Calif is! Blockbuster kiosk machines are not the only thing Calif has to improve on.

Forget this arrogance of thinking they are “better than the rest of the world!” Take note of how OK, TX & AZ have handled the illegal alien situation! That would go a long way in solving the budget problem California can’t seem to get under control! Fire the California legistlators for not fulfilling their duty & stop all freebees to all illegals! Stop the freebees & they will go back to Mexico!

California needs to get real & stop being such snobs!

I was just checking my local H-E-B (Texas Grocery Store) ad. It says Red Box New at H-E-B! It gives a promo code too:

    7HE79B

    Code Valid Until 07/07/09

Looks like it might by an H-E-B location only code. What days does it say it’s good for? Try to use it at another location and report back if it works. If it’s like the Shop n Save grocer code 2 or 3 weeks ago, it might work everywhere. Thanks

GOOD FOR YOU, RED BOX. IT`S FINALLY TIME THAT A COMPANY STOPPED BB FROM RAKING THE PUBLIC FOR ALMOST $5.00/RENTAL. GUESS THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD A MONOPOLY LIKE AT&T PHONE SERVICE FOR SO MANY YEARS. LUV YOUR SELECTIONS & PROMO CODES. A LOYAL CUSTOMER.
