To think of it now, I can’t see any actor’s performance topping Christoph Waltz in Inglorious Bastards, so I’ll say he should and will win as best supporting actor.

I actually saw 7 of the 10 movies nominated for best picture. For sure, Monique will and should win as supporting actress. UP will and should win for animated feature. Though I think Sandra Bullock WILL win as best actress (because it’s her time and she’s as good in Blindside as Julia Roberts was and won for Erin Brocovich movie), I think Meryl Streep SHOULD win as she was unbelievable in portraying Julia Child. Kathryn Bigelow will and should win as director. Only saw 2 of the movies for best and supporting actor so can’t comment. Will go out on the limp, dangling, dangling, and say that District 9 will win best movie–only because I really liked that movie :-)

Do we need 10 candidates for best picture? I guess it helps those movies sell more tickets.
I’m interested in who is going to win best picture and best director.
Actor/Actress awards have been a little spoiled by previous awards: Jeff Bridges (or maybe George Clooney), Meryl Streep or Sandra Bullock, Christoph Waltz, Mo’Nique. Voters try to surprise with one of these awards but I’m just not excited by these bunch.
I guess another thing to look forward to is the Avatar vs. The Hurt Locker fight. They’ll for total awards and share many categories.
