Congratulations to Mary Edwards of Missouri on being chosen as the winner of our August giveaway. She has chosen the Samsung Blu-ray (BD-P1590) Player as her prize.
I had the pleasure of calling Mary on the phone after her entry was chosen as the winner, and found out that today is her birthday! She was very excited to have a nice surprise birthday gift from Inside Redbox.
So, Happy Birthday to Mary, and congratulations!

She has promised to send a photo of her and her family with her prize as soon as she gets it. Once I get the photo, I will post it here.
Thanks to everyone who entered, and thanks to everyone who voted for Darin’s scholarship video. I will post again soon and let everyone know if Darin won the scholarship for law school. The winner is supposed to be announced on September 1.

Congrats, Mary, and Happy Birthday!
Congratulations!
Congrats Mary. August birthday’s are the best:)
that’s a great birthday gift! happy birthday mary! michael, what will happen 2 the apple tv?
It was a Blu-ray Player -OR- AppleTV, whatever the winner chose. So, there is no other prize being given out in this contest. September is just around the corner, though! :)
ah ok thanks!
I’m envisioning a barrel/bucket of raffle tickets; users got to place a raffle ticket in the bucket once per day during the contest period. At the end of the contest period, a single ticket was pulled from all the tickets in the bucket. Or am I missing something?
Why are the odds of winning (1 in 9762) less than the number of entries (8,782). Shouldn’t there be a y in x chance of winning where x is the total number of entries and y is the number of individual entries? That is, if I entered twice, then I would have a 2 in 8282 chance of winning? But if I only entered once, then I would have 1 in 8282 chance of winning?
The second paragraph should be corrected to:
Why are the odds of winning (1 in 9762) less than the number of entries (8,782). Shouldn’t there be a y in x chance of winning where x is the total number of entries and y is the number of individual entries? Your analogy/vision is correct. One “ticket” was pulled out of the barrel.
The chance of winning takes into account the “bonus” entries given to those that entered all 5 days of the giveaway, which is why it is higher than the number of actual entries.
I forgot about that.
Damn I entered all 5 days so I got 10 entries and still lost.
I bet the person that won only entered once too.
I was under the assumption that both the Apple TV and the Samsung Blu-Ray player where being given away. I thought that when we picked what we wanted before hand was because you would have 2 drawings one for each device (1 for AppleTV and the other for Samsung Blu-Ray Player).
If you were giving away just one device then I figured that there was no need to say which device we wanted. In other words I thought the purpose of us saying what we wanted was because both were being given away.
Just play the game. It’s all in fun!!!
I entered every day, too, but I’m glad for Mary. Happy Birthday Mary. What a bonus!
Cool, Mary, I’m so jealous!!
I’m so jealous of Mary that I hate her! Ok, not really, but if she got the Apple TV, then I would really hate her!
Wow, what a great gift! Congrats Mary, and Have a Wonderfull Birthday!
happy bday mary
