I think there are alot of crybaby posts regarding this. As stated above, WE have choices. You don’t have to rent only from REDBOX. If REDBOX doesn’t have what you want, get it from NETFLIX, or BLOCKBUSTER. And keep in mind, what you all are compleaining about is a service that that charges ONE dollar to see a movie!! If you have to wait a few days, after a release date to see it, BIG DEAL!!!! Have you examined your cable bill lately? That renders complaints! Not this!

I LOVE REDOX AND ALL, BUT IF THEY DON’T START TO HAVE THE NEW RELEASE’S I WANT, I’M SERIOUSLY ABOUT TO GO BACK TO NETFLIX, I RENT MOVIES EVERY WEEK, WHY DO I NEED TO DEPEND ON REDBOX TO “HOPEFULLY” HAVE THEM WHEN I CAN KNOWINGLY GET THEM FOR SURE, ESPECIALLY THE FREE TRIALS AT NET FLIX, PLUS I CAN RENT SEASONS OF TV SHOWS, THAT’S NOT BAD:)

Because when the dvd’s are purchased with the intent to rent, they are bought tax exempt. State Laws require that sales tax be charged on rented items.

I just have a question. When I rent a dvd I pay 6 or 7 cent tax and so does everybody else. I want to know if this is legal and why are they charging tax on something we return, we don’t keep the dvd? Why are we paying tax on something that’s already been taxed when it was purchased?

All I have to do is step inside a Blockbuster storefront, stand in line, and pay too much for a dvd (and associated ‘late’ fees) and I immediately realize why I continue to enjoy the convenience, economics, and no hassle of Red Box.

Does the service need impromement? Who’s doesn’t? If a company continues to fail to meet customer expectation’s they go out of business, except if they’re “Too Big To Fail”. So relax and enjoy the FACT thay we have option’s.

In Montgomery, AL area, Red Box service is excellent. If Red Box intends to put a movie in the machine, it is usually in there on the release date. I normally do online rentals with it and have no trouble finding the new movies. I wish they would reconsider the “All About Steve” decision though. I would like to see that one.

I was looking for The Hangover @ Walmart here in Iowa and the store rep said Redbox bougth 300 copies from them and they were sold out. I didn’t care though since I buy Blu-ray not DVD. He said that a sale is a sale and he didn’t think there were any loss-leader issues since they seem to price fairly high anyways.

Putting out untruths in the press like Eric Wold makes it seem like Redbox is really struggling. I think he should of at least tried using numbers that are believeable.
