Amazon has started streaming select Ultra HD TV shows and movies on its service.
The 4K upgrade is at least in part a thumbing of the nose at Netflix, which charges an extra per month for 4K content.

Amazon original series “Alpha House,” “Transparent” and children’s series “Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street” are among the Ultra HD offerings.
Amazon is also selling certain movies in 4K resolution, including After Earth, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Elysium, Godzilla, Hancock, Moneyball, The Mask of Zorro, The Monuments Men, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Da Vinci Code, The Patriot, Think Like a Man Too and This Is the End.
Michael Paull, VP of Amazon Digital Video, said the following about this move:
“We want to deliver the best entertainment experience, and offering Ultra-HD movies and TV shows raises the bar on quality and innovation that customers have come to expect from Amazon,”
Is Netflix going to feel the heat from Amazon’s decision to offer this Ultra HD content for free?

Screw Amazon, I would never buy or rent anything from them again!
I will pass on this bit…….
Yes I do get things from Amazon..
But I am not going to get a 4K Idiot box.. My 55″ LED Tv with a ton of hook ups on it and things I have yet to use.. Will do just great for a very long tie yet!
