Hulu’s premium service, which launched back in June, may not be living up to the company’s expectations and may be in line for a price cut, according to Media Memo. The service offers full seasons of many popular past and current TV shows, but retains the ads that its free cousin also runs.

Between a delisting from the NYSE, penny-stock values and now Chapter 11, it has not been a good year to be a Blockbuster shareholder. Things are even worse, according to disgruntled shareholder Jasbir Sandhu, who is alleging that BB CEO Jim Keyes and billionaire investor Carl Icahn engaged in collusion prior to Blockbuster’s bankruptcy filing last month.

Redbox and Amazon, two unlikely partners at first glance, should team up to offer a subscription-based streaming model, according analyst Eric Wold with Merriman Curhan Ford. Wold believes that the two companies, neither of which currently has a streaming offering, could make a powerful combination if they joined forces.

In spite of some possible hiccups on its road to 10,000 installed kiosks by the end of 2010, NCR’s Blockbuster Express continues to expand its footprint across the nation. Most recently, NCR has reached an agreement with BI-LO to install kiosks at all of the grocery chain’s 207 locations across the Southeast.
